LAGOS, Nigeria – The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, has announced a special prayer gathering in response to the growing cases of killings, banditry, kidnapping, and violence across Nigeria.
This is contained in a press statement signed by Apostle Tonye Oliver, Publicity Secretary and Director of Digital Media of the fellowship.
The organisation has expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity affecting innocent citizens and Christian communities in different parts of the country.
According to the statement, PFN said it remains the moral, spiritual, and civic responsibility of the church to speak against violence while praying for peace, justice, and national security.
The fellowship has also called on the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to take urgent and decisive steps towards protecting lives and property across the nation.
As part of efforts to seek divine intervention, the Lagos chapter of PFN will host a peaceful prayer gathering on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Global Impact Church.
PFN further disclosed that churches across Lagos State would observe a special 15-minute prayer session during worship services on the same day, focusing on peace, security, justice, and national healing.
The organisation has equally invited members of the media to a media parley scheduled to hold immediately after the prayer gathering, noting that the role of the media in promoting truth, justice, and accountability remains vital.
The statement quoted the biblical passage, “We ought also to love one another” (1 John 4:11), as a call for unity, compassion, and national peace.
