…Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men conquer Nigeria again as Rangers equal Enyimba’s legendary record in dramatic fashion

NIGERIA: Rangers International FC have once again written their name in gold in Nigerian football history after emerging champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season. The famous “Flying Antelopes” secured their ninth league title after a dramatic 2-1 victory against Ikorodu City at the Onikan Stadium, sealing another unforgettable chapter in the proud history of the Enugu giants.
It was a season filled with pressure, survival battles, controversy, and intense drama across the NPFL, but in the middle of the chaos, Rangers stood tall with consistency, discipline, and the heart of true champions. From the very first whistle of the campaign to the final day showdown, Rangers showed hunger, determination, and the mentality of a team destined for glory.
Their latest triumph means Rangers have now won two league titles in three years and have officially matched Enyimba’s record of nine NPFL titles — making them joint most successful clubs in Nigerian league history.

From MFM FC between 2017 and 2019, to Heartland from 2019 to 2021, then Plateau United between 2021 and 2023, before finally settling at Rangers International in 2023, Fidelis has built his reputation as one of the finest coaches in the NPFL era.
Now in his third season with Rangers, he has successfully guided the club back to the summit of Nigerian football. Across his managerial career, Fidelis Ilechukwu has recorded an impressive 154 wins in 354 matches, with only 24 defeats — statistics that reflect his consistency and tactical intelligence.
