United States President Donald Trump has declared that the US military has sunk nine Iranian navy ships amid the ongoing conflict between Washington and Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump vowed to go after other Iranian navy ships, reports Nigerian Tribune.
“We are going after the rest [of Iran’s navy ships] — They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea.”
He added, “In a different attack, we largely destroyed their naval headquarters. Other than that, their navy is doing very well!”
Earlier on Sunday, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that three American soldiers were killed and five others seriously wounded in the escalating hostilities with Iran.
The casualties mark the first officially reported American deaths since the conflict intensified.
CENTCOM did not provide further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths and injuries of the US service members.
