Buhari Congratulates Archbishop Okolo, First Black Vatican City Ambassador To Czech Republic

A congratulatory message by President Muhammadu Buhari has been conveyed to His Excellency, the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, and the Ambassador of the Vatican City to the Czech Republic.

Nigerian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, His Excellency, Ambassador Kevin Peter, on a courtesy call on behalf of President Buhari congratulated the first black man to be assigned a duty to represent the Vatican City by His Holiness, Pope Francis.

Okolo, a Nigerian by birth, was lauded by Ambassador Kevin Peter, who in a statement said the visit was to convey the good wishes and congratulatory message of Mr. President, Mohammadu Buhari, GCON.

President Buhari called on the Ambassador Priest to pray fervently for Nigeria and keep making the nation proud through his Priestly duties as the Vatican City Ambassador.

Jude Okolo, an indigene of Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, was born and brought up in Kano, and was mentored by His Lordship, Cardinal Arinze.

While responding to the courtesy call to convey President Buhari’s words of congratulations through the Nigerian Chancery, Ambassador Jude appreciated the visit and expressed his gratitude to the President for the show of fatherly love and encouragement.

He pledged to be praying for Nigeria in terms of security, peace, unity, and progress, especially as that the country is about to conduct another election that will determine new leaders to pilot its affairs.
