Stanbic IBTC Unveils Key Insights and Solutions for Business Excellence With 2023 Employer Forum

As part of its efforts to ensuring employees from different sectors of organisation in Nigeria have a successful retirement, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers recently held its 2023 edition of its annual Employer Forum. The event themed “Pension Mastery: Supporting Employees in their Journey to Retirewell” was held virtually through a webinar on the June 21st, 2023.

The annual Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Employers Forum is a wide-based platform created to educate and engage employers about pension concerns and retirement for their employees after active service. This year’s edition focused on enlightening employers with the innovative ways they can devise to offer quality and seamless pension services to their employees as part of their staff benefits package.

In his opening remarks at the virtual event, Olumide Oyetan, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Pensions Managers, acknowledged the importance of the roles employees play in any organisation. He noted that the success of businesses is dependent on securing the general well-being of their employees and having a pension plan allows firms to plan for the future of their employees.

He said, “Retirement is a critical stage of life, and we must support our employees in their journey towards securing a healthy retirement through a pension scheme. This will not only motivate them but also sharpen their focus on the job knowing that they can rely on and focus on a well-planned retirement in the future. Employers must understand having a well-planned retirement for their employees guarantees the sustainability of such organisations.

“Research has shown that a comfortable retirement is linked to higher employee satisfaction, production, and retention by providing retirement packages that cater for the needs of your employee. As a Pension Fund Administrator, ready to help businesses stand the test of time, we have created this event to provide insight to employers on how they can motivate their workforce by involving in the Contributory Pension Scheme and help them achieve post-work financial independence they deserve,” he said.

During the session, Kenneth Omeogu, Head, Business Development, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, highlighted how employers can give their employees a smooth retirement experience through RSA documentation and processes, arrears, and pension payment. He noted that the Pension Fund Administrator has made significant changes to enhance its services by assigning a Service Relationship Manager to each employer to address pressing issues concerning their employees’ pensions. Kenneth also noted that Stanbic IBTC plans to create some access points which include Financial Fitness Academy, Retirewell Session, Pre-retirement seminar, and a mobile office that employers can access in their respective organisations.
