Stanbic IBTC has held its LATTES 3.0 event, aimed at empowering women and inspire them to reach their full potential.

The event featured various speakers who shared their insights on how women can create a better future for themselves and contribute to society.

Juliet Ehimuan, Founder, Beyond Limits and Ex-Director, Google West Africa, emphasised the importance of women stepping forward and becoming relevant in society. She encouraged the “women of the future” to leverage their present to shape a better future. Juliet outlined five essential qualities that women should possess to thrive in the future which are intentionality, noting  that women should be intentional in every aspect of their lives to achieve clarity of vision and a clear sense of purpose. She said this will enable them to focus and filter out distractions that compete for their attention.

She also stated that women must be courageous and fearless highlighting that fear is natural, but being courageous means not allowing fear to hinder achievements. Women should strive to overcome their fears and take bold steps towards their goals.

Ehimuan added that in an evolving world driven by technology, women need to be digitally empowered. They should stay updated with the latest advancements and leverage technology to enhance their skills and opportunities.

The former Google director emphasized the importance of adopting a growth mindset. Women should believe that intelligence and abilities can be developed through consistent effort, drawing inspiration from others, and embracing feedback as an opportunity for growth.

“Women of the future need to be adaptable and flexible in responding to challenges. While maintaining clarity of destination and purpose, they should be open to change and willing to adjust their strategies when necessary”, she said.

Ehimuan’s speech provided valuable insights for women to navigate their path towards a successful future.
