Nigerians Groan As Fuel Price Climbs To N617 Per Litre In Abuja, Lagos

The price of Petrol has increased to about N617 per litre, a visit to several petrol stations in Lagos and Abuja

A visit to an NNPC filling station in the Central area of Abuja by this reporter confirmed that the fuel price has now been adjusted from N539 to N617 per litre.

Other petrol stations in Abuja also gave similar report.

However, NNPC station at Abule Egba was selling at N568/litre when our Correspondent visited the station.

However, the station was besieged by anxious motorists who wanted to buy the product

A Customer, who identified himself as Isiaka told Standard Times that he has been to several petrol stations but could not get petrol to buy.

The immediate reason could not be ascertained but it is not unconnected to the recent projections by oil marketers that fuel price will hit N700 per litre soon.

Efforts to get reactions from the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NDMPRA) was unsuccessfulas at the time of filing this report.
