Nigerian gospel singer, sister Osinachi Nwachukwu, has reportedly died.

She was said to have breathed her last on Friday. The Imo State-born gospel singer died at the age of 42 years.

Although no official confirmation has come yet from family members and close associates, the mother of four was said to have died in an Abuja hospital.

Osinachi was also a lead chorister at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja

Osinachi was said to be battling an undisclosed ailment months before she reportedly breathed her last.

Some reports, however, say she had been battling throat cancer and had required an oxygen machine to breathe in the last two months.

The gospel singer shot into the limelight with the hit gospel song, “Ekwueme”, which she did with Prospa Ochimana. She was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

The singer’s death comes as a rude shock to many of her admirers and followers, especially the Church in Nigeria. Many gospel artistes have expressed sadness over what they described as a huge the loss.
