Sunday, May 14, was a day to remember as Joelaz Music Academy hosted yet another edition of the monthly programme, JOELAZ STARZ (Special Talents Are Real with Zeal).

It is a platform through which the school showcases the best of the raw talents at their disposal; throwing the doors open, as it were, for parents, guardians, friends, family and well wishers alike, to come and witness live performances by their children and wards as they display their skills, dexterity, craftsmanship and musical artistry on different musical instruments before a live audience.

The theme of the programme for the month of May was: ‘Evening Of Hymns’, and performing on stage was Eromosele Omoike – a.k.a ‘KEY MASTER’, who literally lit up the stage on the keyboard to such a crescendo in an evening of worship in God’s presence, leaving the attendees speechless and breathless – as many testified of a cascading of blessings upon them.

Some of the guests at the occasion were so moved by his spirit-filled and inspired performance on the keyboard as he played to beautiful renditions of soulful hymns, that they attested to the move of God’s awesome power and His presence in their midst.

According to the Principal Instructor of the school, Mr. Joel Olanipekun Olaseinde, “JOELAZ STARZ was specially coined to build confidence in the students studying at the Academy. The school has always been committed to honing the skills and talent of these young ones, by exposing them at a young age and making them believe in themselves and in what they can actually do with various musical instruments.

“We believe in catching them young and training these children to become world stars. We believe that by using such medium to expose them to the public, would give them an added advantage and build up their confidence as they grow to meet and face various challenges and competition that lie ahead of them. As such, it is a very good platform for them to further showcase their talent to the world,” he said.

Mr. David Olatunji (Champion), is the Academic Director of the school. He believes with hard work and dedication, any child, if properly groomed, can make it in music and indeed in any field of endeavour.

He was very pleased with the performance of the day and called on parents and guardians to encourage their children to toe the path of music.

“I’m very happy with what I have seen today. This project is still work in progress and we’re beginning to see the dividends of the hardwork and commitment we’re putting into all of this. I’m happy for KEY MASTER’S performance today; for taking us to a new spiritual height with his display on the keyboard.

“Like I always say – and that is what we preach in this school – our parents should do more to support and encourage these children, especially with regards to music. This is what my boss, the Principal Instructor, Mr Joel, has always been advocating as well. If parents show commitment to these children’s musical growth, the sky can only be the limit because inherent in them is immense talent waiting to be explored and harnessed,” he stated.

Champion was full of praises for his team of instructors and staff of the institution, while equally thanking Mr Joel for giving them the platform to express themselves as well, musically.
