CMS Grammar School Wins Dr. & Mrs. D. K. Olukoya Choral Competition

CMS Grammar School, Bariga on Sunday, February 25, 2024, emerged winner of the Dr. & Mrs. D. K. Olukoya Choral Competition, winning a cash prize of N1 million and a keyboard. The finals of the competition which was targeted at secondary schools in Lagos State took place at the Grace Hall of MFM International HQ in Lagos.

Eletu Odibo High School came second, winning the sum of N750,000 and a keyboard; while Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Junior High School, Maryland, came third winning N500,000 and a keyboard.

The other finalists got consolation prizes of various amounts and none went away empty.

Speaking at the event, Dr DK Olukoya, the General Overseer of MFM and an ardent music enthusiast, highlighted that the primary objective of the Secondary Schools Choral Competition is to promote music education and appreciation throughout schools in Lagos State.

“This event is designed to instil a passion for music, enhance vocal skills and techniques, and provide a platform for students to exhibit their musical talents”, he said. The event was attended by music lovers.
