Agent Offers Chelsea’s Ashanti Akpan To Waldrum Ahead Of Olympic Games

Reports reaching us at Nigeriasoccernet.com states that the agent of Chelsea women midfielder Ashanti Akpan has offered her to Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum ahead of the Olympic qualifiers.

Ashanti made her debut for Chelsea senior women’s team in March this year, playing 25 minutes as the Blues defeated Reading Women 3-1 in an FA Cup game.

Akpan, 17, was born in Poland to a Nigerian father and thus, eligible to play for Nigeria.

The midfielder is eligible to play for three countries, Poland her place of birth, Nigeria through her father, and England where she has been capped at the under-16 level.

With the Olympics qualifier not far away, Ashanti, who has never hidden her love for Nigeria, will be readily available to represent the country.

Her elder sister, Ashley Antoni Akpan, 19, who was also from Chelsea academy currently plays the right-back position for Aldershot Town.
