Verve Issues 100 Million Cards, Announces Global Partnerships With Adobe, Glovo

Verve, Africa’s largest homegrown payment card brand, has officially surpassed 100 million cards milestone, highlighting its leadership in driving secure, seamless, and accessible digital payment solutions across the continent. The announcement was made by Vincent Ogbunude, Managing Director, Verve International, at a media launch event celebrating the landmark achievement.

Reflecting on the journey, Ogbunude highlighted Verve’s evolution from its launch over 15 years ago as Africa’s first domestic card scheme to its current status as a trusted pan-African payments brand. Accepted in multiple countries including Kenya, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin Republic, The Gambia, Senegal among others, Verve has grown through innovation, resilience, and a deep understanding of consumer needs.

“One hundred million cards is more than a statistic. It represents the confidence of our customers, the commitment of our partners, and the trust of millions of Africans. Every transaction tells a story: Traders receiving payments quickly, students paying fees seamlessly, shoppers transacting securely, and entrepreneurs powering their businesses,” Ogbunude said.

The milestone also served as the platform to announce Verve’s latest strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing both lifestyle and professional experiences for cardholders. Verve has partnered with Adobe to provide its cardholders access to the full suite of Adobe creative tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro, at competitive rates. The partnership also enables simplified payments, supporting Africa’s growing creator economy.

In addition, a new collaboration with Glovo, one of Africa’s fastest-growing on-demand delivery platforms, will offer users discounts, rewards, and a smoother checkout experience, reflecting Verve’s commitment to convenience and everyday lifestyle solutions.

Ogbunude emphasised that the 100 million card milestone is not a finish line, but a renewed mandate to expand Verve’s footprint and deepen its impact across Africa. Central to this growth is Verve’s strategic approach to partnerships, which ensures relevance, competitiveness, and alignment with users’ evolving lifestyles.

Ogbunude expressed gratitude to the media, issuing banks, ecosystem partners, merchants, and millions of Verve users across Africa for their continued support, reinforcing the Verve’s commitment to powering inclusive and innovative digital payment experiences.

As Verve steps into its next phase of growth, the brand remains committed to deepening financial inclusion, expanding its acceptance footprint, and powering everyday transactions with the security and reliability millions of Africans already trust. With its continued investment in innovation, strategic partnerships, and user-first experiences, Verve is poised to shape the future of payments across Africa, driving greater inclusion, innovation and trust.
