Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has made Premier League history by winning the Golden Boot, Playmaker Award, and EA SPORTS Player of the Season in the 2024/25 campaign.
Salah finished the season with 29 goals, securing the Golden Boot as the league’s top scorer. His nearest rival, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, ended the season with 23 goals. This is the fourth time Salah has won the Golden Boot, equalling Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s record for the most Golden Boots by a single player.
The Egyptian star also claimed the Playmaker Award for the most assists in the season, recording 18 assists—six more than Newcastle’s Jacob Murphy. This is the second time Salah has won both the Golden Boot and Playmaker Awards in the same season, having done so in 2021/22.
Only two other players—Harry Kane in 2020/21 and Andrew Cole in 1993/94—have topped both goals and assists in a single season, though the official Playmaker Award was only introduced in 2017.
Salah is the first player in Premier League history to win all three major individual awards in a single season: the Golden Boot, the Playmaker Award, and the EA SPORTS Player of the Season.
He was named Player of the Season on Saturday, making him only the fifth player to win it more than once. The others are Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne.
On the final day of the season, Salah scored against Crystal Palace to take his total combined goals and assists to 47. This equals the all-time single-season record held by Alan Shearer (1994/95) and Andrew Cole (1993/94), both of whom achieved that feat in 42-game seasons, unlike today’s 38-game format.
Salah’s latest achievements further cement his status as one of the greatest players in Premier League history. Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, he has consistently delivered world-class performances, helping Liverpool to a Champions League title, a Premier League title, and multiple other domestic trophies.
Fans and pundits alike have praised Salah not only for his scoring ability but also for his selfless playmaking, work ethic, and leadership on the field.
With this historic treble of individual awards, Salah continues to break records and set new standards for attackers in the modern game.
