Egyptian giants Pyramids FC is set to take on Morocco’s RS Berkane in the upcoming CAF Super Cup, following their thrilling 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final.
The Egyptian side’s win marked their first-ever Champions League title and earned them a spot in the prestigious tournament.
The CAF Super Cup will pit the Champions League winners against the Confederation Cup champions, with RS Berkane qualifying after lifting the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup trophy.
This matchup also gives Pyramids a chance to avenge their 2020 Confederation Cup final defeat to Berkane.
Pyramids’ victory in the Champions League final was sealed with a 3-2 aggregate win over Sundowns, thanks to goals from Fiston Mayele and Ahmed Samy at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium.
The win continues Egypt’s dominance in African club football, marking the third consecutive season an Egyptian club has won the CAF Champions League.
