Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed why he chose to join Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas. The 28-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Istanbul-based team last Friday.
Ndidi said he wanted to experience a new challenge by playing in a different league and meeting new people. “Beşiktaş are one of the biggest teams in the country. I wanted to be here because I want to see a new environment, new people and a new league,” he told Besiktas TV.
Before moving to Turkey, Ndidi spent eight and a half years at English Premier League club Leicester City, where he established himself as a key player. Despite interest from several top European clubs, he opted for Besiktas to broaden his career experience.
