Getafe Happy Over Potential Uche Return

Getafe president Angel Torres has confirmed the club is ready to welcome Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche back into the squad following an unproductive loan at Crystal Palace, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Uche joined the Premier League side in September 2025 on a season-long deal that included a conditional €20 million obligation to buy, triggered if he started ten league matches.

The 22-year-old, however, has yet to make a league start under manager Oliver Glasner, leaving the purchase clause unfulfilled.

Speaking at a club event, Torres said Uche remains a valuable asset with three years left on his Getafe contract and they will be delight to have him back at the Coliseum Stadium.

“He has offers from other countries outside the Premier League, and he’ll decide,” Torres said.

“That, or he can come back; he has three years left on his contract. We’d be delighted if he returned if he can’t be sold.”

Torres also addressed the wider squad, noting that while Getafe is keen to retain some winter signings such as Mario Martín, permanent transfers will depend on player sales.

“To buy, you first have to sell. We have some options. Mario Martín will certainly stay. As for the others who have arrived, we will see. We also need to resolve the situation of Uche and some others. We cannot buy ten players; maybe three or four,” he explained.

Uche’s return would bolster a midfield that benefited from his technical ability and physical presence during a productive 2024/25 season, where he recorded four goals and seven assists.

With Crystal Palace unlikely to trigger the purchase option, Getafe is poised either to reintegrate Uche or consider other European suitors before the new season.
