Former Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro has been appointed as the new manager of Saudi First Division League side Al-Ula SC.
The Portuguese tactician takes over at Al-Ula following his recent stint with Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek.
Peseiro spent just four months in charge of the Cairo-based club before being relieved of his duties by the former African champions.
The 65-year-old is well known to Nigerian football fans, having led the Super Eagles to a second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where Nigeria narrowly lost the final.
Al-Ula FC are currently fourth on the Saudi First Division League table and will be counting on Peseiro’s experience and pedigree to boost their promotion push.
The club is targeting a place in the Saudi Pro League ahead of the next campaign under the guidance of the former Nigeria coach.
