Lagos Pilgrims Board Courts Public Affairs Collaboration For Pilgrimage Plans

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on public affairs personnel in the state to partner with the Board in sensitising the public about the Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel.

At a gathering of Ministry of Information and Strategy Public Affairs Management Staff Retreat in Lekki, Lagos, Dr. Gbolabo Omoniyi Okudero, Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, urged the senior personnel to leverage their platforms and media expertise to dispel misconceptions and generate public interest in the pilgrimage programme.

According to Dr. Okudero, “As image builders, strategic communicators, and the voice of government to the people of Lagos, your role is vital in shaping perception and building public trust, I therefore express my heartfelt appeal for your understanding and support in sensitising the public about the pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel.”

The Board Secretary emphasised the transformative impact of the pilgrimage, which renews faith, promotes peace, and strengthens moral values. Notably, a significant percentage of past participants who were substantive Directors have been appointed as Permanent Secretaries in the Service, highlighting the programme’s potential for personal and professional growth.

Dr. Okudero appealed to the public affairs officers to share and amplify pilgrimage messages across their MDAs and communities, collaborate on media sensitisation campaigns, and encourage pastors and community members to consider the pilgrimage as a source of spiritual enrichment and renewal.

With the first batch of pilgrims set to commence soon, the Board stressed the importance of timely awareness for a successful programme. By working together, the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and public affairs practitioners can uplift individual lives and strengthen the spiritual foundation of Lagos State.
